About Saviu Ventures

Saviu Ventures is a young Africa-focused venture capital fund with a dozen portfolio companies and €30m to deploy in new investments over the next few years. Out of our Paris and Abidjan-based offices, we invest in early-stage tech companies across sub-Saharan Africa. We target companies that tackle meaningful challenges on the continent by building asset-light platforms to leverage the growing mobile and internet penetration and overcome the critical lack of infrastructure. We are sector-agnostic with a preference for B2B fintech, e-commerce, and logistics.

As we scale, we’re looking to hire a full-time Analyst / Associate to help us identify and partner with Africa’s most talented founders. Our team is small and ambitious. We’re looking for a self-starter, eager to learn, and willing to autonomously manage key parts of our investment processes with an emphasis on sourcing investments and managing the deal pipeline.

About the role

As an investor at Saviu Ventures, you will be an integral part of the investment team. You can expect on a daily basis to:

Proactively source potential investment opportunities in Africa
Review incoming leads that reach us and identify the most promising ones
Speak with plenty of entrepreneurs building exciting companies
Be involved in all aspects of due diligence on new investments (business analysis, industry thesis, competitive landscape, business model, and financial modeling / deal structuring)
Build relationships with co-investors in the ecosystem
Keep the team up to speed with the latest trends, the evolution of business models, and the emergence of new interesting players
Ideate on and provide feedback and insights into our investment theses
Report portfolio performance to our LPs
Support our portfolio companies as they grow their business

Preferred profile

Bachelor or Master's in engineering/finance/business
1-4 years of full-time experience in a high-performance environment (venture capital, private equity, consulting, high-growth startup)
Some experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, having lived, studied or worked on the continent; cultural knowledge or strong interest in the continent
